Ireland into 100m final at World Championships

Slowly but surely, this country is making a serious name for itself on the track.

The renowned Gina Apke-Moses continues to light up the athletics world and, on Thursday evening, she will contest the final of the 100m sprint at the World U20 Championships. Akpe-Moses qualified through a tough semi-final with an incredible time of 11.51 - just shy of her 11.46 personal best. She did however trail American Twanisha Terry who won the heat with a stupid posting of 11.03 and, naturally, that is now the racer to beat heading into the decider which takes place at 7.15pm Irish time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBtH3GCUPI4 It's the first time the Irish have qualified for a 100m world championships final in 18 years and it comes off the back of  Rhasidat Adeleke gold in the U18 Europeans just last week.
