Ger Gilroy announced as host of UTV Ireland’s weekly sports show

The long time Off The Ball presenter will become the face of a weekly sports show on Ireland's newest TV channel
At the end of their first full week of broadcasting UTV Ireland have revealed the team that will be presenting their sports coverage. From tomorrow night, and every Friday night, the station's flagship evening news show Ireland Live will feature a sports segment hosted by Ger Gilroy. Marie Crowe, formerly of the Sunday Independent and Bernard O'Toole, formerly of FM104, were also announced as UTV's sports team today. "UTV Ireland has assembled a great team and I am delighted to be working alongside Marie and Bernard – two excellent sports journalists," Gilroy says. "The Ireland Live at 10 sports segment will equip sports fans with everything they need to know about the weekend of sport ahead and I am really looking forward to our first broadcast tomorrow evening.” It is understand Gilroy will remain in his role as presenter of Off The Ball.Explore more on these topics:
