Digging the Pommies out of another hole, for a while anyway
Eoin Morgan celebrated his permanent elevation to role of England one-day captain with a spirited knock of 121 in Sydney today.
The former Ireland batsman, who knows earns a corn with Middlesex and England, arrived to the crease with his side floundering at 36/4. He consolidated, and built an innings, with Jos Buttler before accelerating as the day went on.
Morgan cut loose with an array of attacking strokes as he neared his century and eventually nudged his team to a total of 234 all-out.
The target was easily chased down by the Aussies, however, as David Warner bludgeoned 127 from 116 balls to ensure a three-wicket win.
