Player picks out sister's partner in crowd

It’s always nice when your in-laws offer to help out with the old finances, but if Otago Volts batsman Michael Bracewell wanted to help out his sister and her partner he probably didn’t need to make things so complicated.

New Zealand cricket team the Northern Knights are running a promotion whereby any fan who catches a six on the full wins $5,000 NZD (€3,100). Bracewell, a player for the visiting Otago Volts, was not only able to hoist the ball over long on to the boundary, he managed to pick out his sister’s partner Andrew McCulloch in the crowd.

The rest, though, was up to Andrew, and he pulled off a savage one-handed, sliding grab to claim the cash, earning some exuberant praise from the commentators. You absolute champion is right.
