Ireland's Georgia Drummy has broken new ground at the Australian Open.
At 15-years-old, Drummy has become the youngest ever Irish player to qualify for a Grand Slam after defeating USA's Helen Abigail Altick.
The Dubliner got off to a flyer, dominating the 17-year-old in the opening set to claim it 6-2.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second frame which saw it head to a tie-break, reports Tennis Ireland. However, Drummy comprehensively won the tie-break 7-2, securing a straight sets victory 6-2 7-6 (7-2)
She won her first qualifier against Sakura Yonehara on Wednesday defeating the Japanese teenager in three sets 6-3, 6-7, 7-5.
Drummy will compete at the Junior Australian Open which commences on January 23. You can view the draws shortly on the ITF Website here.
