Australian cyclist Alex Porter was involved in a bizarre crash on Monday morning as the handlebars on his bicycle fell off mid-race in the Velodrome.
Porter flew off his bike and landed on the hard floor, thankfully only sustaining superficial injuries - burn marks to his chin and nose.
His Aussie teammates Kelland O’Brien, Sam Welsford and Leigh Howard came to a stop after Porter fell off his bike.

Team GB cycling legend Chris Hoy shed some light on how this might happen, saying: "It will be a catastrophic failure, carbon fibre is so strong, but when it goes, it goes.
"Hopefully it's a freak occurrence. That would have given him a real shake."
Thankfully, it's not the most chaotic or dangerous cycling crash in recent weeks. Remember the absolutely unhinged decision from one over-excited Tour De France fan who caused a mass crash by stepping into the road to hold up a sign to their grandparents?
She was eventually arrested.
