What a disaster for supporters, for parents, for broadcasters and indeed for the ladies football championship in general.
The TG4 All-Ireland senior ladies football championship semi-final between Cork and Galway has been switched from Parnell Park to Croke Park due to unplayable icy conditions in the Donnycarney venue. The game, originally due to take place at 1.30, will now throw-in at 1.00 instead with the late change in schedule meaning that the game will now not be shown live on tv.
It will come as a serious blow for all involved that TG4 - sponsors of the competition - are now unable to broadcast the game live. TG4 have been supporting the women's game for years and this development was clearly out of their hands.
"Due to the late change of venue we will unfortunately not have live coverage of today’s All-Ireland ladies football semi-final," read their statement."

TG4 are hoping to show extended highlights of the game during their GAA 2020 programme which airs every Monday.
This is the third time for this particular game to be re-fixed, with the clash originally penned in for the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. The Treaty's qualification for the All-Ireland hurling final ruled out the Shannonside venue, with the pitch being kept for Limerick training sessions instead.
This stipulation had been agreed between the Limerick county board and the ladies football association prior to the clash of interests.
