Rory McIlroy has won as many times as one NBA team since the end of January

What a stat

If you have been watching the NBA this year you will know that there are more than a few bad teams but the Philadelphia 76ers are really, really bad.

Thanks to a policy of picking players who are frankly not up to NBA standard, the 76ers are 0-17 for the season. Yes, played 17, won zero. The next worst team, the Detroit Pistons, at least have three wins from 18 played.

Anyway, the clever folks at ESPN’s Sportscenter decided to look back to last season too, where the 76ers were also brutal. There they discovered that from January 31, the 76ers had won only four games. That brought their total wins from that date to this to, yes, four wins, FROM 52 PLAYED.

So, they then went to compare that with other sports and among other nuggets they discovered that Rory McIlroy has won four times since that date, and that included two Majors.
