Meath duo come up with Chappell Roan-inspired GAA banger ahead of All-Ireland semi-final

Meath putting Chappell Roan on the map

Jeff Buckley covering Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. Whitney Houston covering Dolly Parton’s I Will Always Love You. Richard Corbally and Donal Bowens covering Chappell Roan’s Hot To Go.

They’ll all go down in history.

Meath take on Donegal in Sunday’s second All-Ireland SFC semi-final, and a new chant will ring out across Croke Park to support the boys from the Royal County.

Kilmainhamwood chairperson Richard Corbally has joined forces with Donal Bowens to produce a hilarious cover of Roan’s big hit, renaming it ‘Hot For Meath’.

It’s had mixed reviews – ‘What a horrible day to be able to hear’ is harsh in the replies – but we love it. Get your ears on it below.

Meath, who have beaten both Dublin and Kerry in the championship this year, are a surprise package in the All-Ireland semis in their first year under Robbie Brennan.

They produced a fantastic display to get past Galway in the quarter-final, with goals from Conor Gray and Jordan Morris securing a 2-16 to 2-15 win.

Meath v Donegal begins at 4pm on Sunday, while Tyrone v Kerry in the other semi-final is at 5pm on Saturday.
