Shamrock Rovers' Michael Noonan is set to join Premier League side Nottingham Forest in January on a free transfer.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that the forward is set for a medical with the club on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old joined the Hoops from St Patrick's Athletic in 2005, and has also starred for the Ireland U21s.
He has 17 goals in 76 games for Rovers, and was linked with moves to Hoffenheim, Ajax and Benfica earlier this year.
During the summer, Rovers boss Stephen Bradley spoke about the player and his likelihood of a move.
He said: “I don’t see it. I haven’t been told anything otherwise, I don’t expect that to change. I don’t see Michael not being here until the end of the season at least.
“He was great the other night (against Derry City). He should score, he knows that. He feels he should score.
“One of Michael’s strengths is he’s very similar to Johnny (Kenny) in that he’s not afraid to miss. He gets in that position time and time again and Michael’s a top player.
“Sometimes we all forget that he’s 17 years of age and what comes with young players is that inconsistency and you have to accept that and be okay with that.
“But Michael’s going to be an important player for us between now and the end of the season, Europe, domestically.”
