Joint managers Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan make decision on Tyrone future

The duo led Tyrone to All-Ireland victory in 2021.

Joint managers Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan have made a decision on their future plans in terms of management and the Tyrone job. The duo have decided that they want to be considered for a new three-year term, and have put their names into the hat for consideration. According to The Irish News, both Dooher and Logan are keen to remain on as managers of the Ulster county and remain in charge for the coming season. The pair successfully guided Tyrone to their fourth All-Ireland title in their first year in charge back in 2021, beating Mayo in the final. However, the following year was borderline disastrous as they crashed out of the Ulster championship after losing to Derry and then forfeited their title when Armagh beat them comfortably in the qualifiers. This year, their third season in charge, Tyrone did significantly better in terms of progression in the championship and made the quarter final stages of the competition. The highlight of the season was when they defeated Donegal in the preliminary quarter finals, with Darragh and Ruairi Canavan in particular injecting a burst of energy and excitement into the county. Their defeat against reigning champions Kerry however, left a bad taste in the mouth for the Red Hand fans. The Kingdom easily brushed away their rivals in a game that failed to be competitive in the end. The Tyrone county board will have to make a decision on whether or not they accept Dooher and Logan's request to stay on, and possibly consider other candidates. Paul Devlin managed the u20s to All-Ireland victory last year, Paddy Tally has had great success with Kerry in the backroom team, and Mark Harte, son of Mickey, guided Errigal Ciaran to the county club championship in 2022 - so all three of these men could be potential candidates.
