Some talent

Kobe McDonald was the star of the show once again, as the Mayo U20s advanced to final of the Connacht championship, after a 3-16 to 1-12 win over Galway in Castlebar.

The Tribesmen aren't out of it, however, and will have a chance to face Mayo in the decider if they defeat Roscommon next Wednesday.

Having already starred for the seniors, McDonald finished with 2-3 on the day, including two excellent goals, with the first one particularly eye-catching.

Each great performance from the youngster is more bittersweet than the last, with the 18-year-old leaving for Australia and the AFL later in the year.

Earlier this month, senior manager Andy Moran gave an indication of when he will make his championship debut.

He said: “Kobe and Darragh Beirne won’t play in London.

"They’ll probably link in with us for a couple of days, train with the squad and travel, but they won’t be part of the 26. After that, though, they’ll be available for the rest of the summer.”
