Donegal rip Down open with beautifully worked team goal

Donegal advanced to their seventh Ulster Senior Football Championship final in the last eight years with a 2-22 to 1-12 win over Down at St Tiernach's Park on Sunday.
Forward Leo McLoone struck first for Donegal before teammate Jamie Brennan found the back on an empty net in the second-half with a beautifully worked team goal. Substitute Ciaran Thompson found Ryan McHugh with a handpass over the top of the Down defence before McHugh then passed the ball over Down goalkeeper Marc Reid and into the waiting arms of Brennan who had the simplest of finishes from point blank range. https://twitter.com/officialgaa/status/1005888367395995648 Donegal cruised to the 13-point win despite losing full-back Neil McGee to a red card after just 13 minutes. McGee was given a yellow card by referee Anthony Nolan before the Wicklow official then issued McGee a second yellow card less than two minutes later after the defender collided with Connaire Harrison near the sideline. Brennan led the Tír Conaill Men in scoring with 1-3 from play while Paddy McBrearty chipped in with six scores of his own to complement five points from full-forward Michael Murphy.Explore more on these topics:
