Zlatan Ibrahimovic linked with unexpected move away from MLS

For those of you who thought that Zlatan Ibrahimovic intended to retire in America, think again.

Major League Soccer has a reputation for being a retirement home for the world's greatest footballing talents but Ibrahimovic might fancy one more challenge before hanging up his boots. The Swedish legend has been linked with a shock move to Egyptian side Pyramids FC, according to a report in the Record. The report claims that Saudi owner Turki al-Sheikh is prepared to green-light a move for Ibrahimovic when the MLS season comes to a close in December. Ibrahimovic has scored 16 goals in 21 games for LA Galaxy since his move from Manchester United and while his 37th birthday is on the horizon, his knack for finding the net shows no signs of stopping. Pyramids FC finished in ninth place in the Egyptian Premier League last season and have already made attempts to reduce the amount of goals conceded by bringing in Brazilian legend Dida as a goalkeeping coach recently. The potential switch to Egypt lies solely with Ibrahimovic, who has won league titles in Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands. The MLS has reportedly sanctioned his move and money doesn't appear to be an issue for Pyramids FC.
