"There are three acceptable haircuts. High and tight, crew cut, and buzz cut".

They may have been the words of Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation, but they still ring true. Yesterday, QPR midfielder Joey Barton paid tribute to the departing Steven Gerrard by saying his true legacy will lie in the fact that the Liverpool legend has never been one to stray far from a short, sensible haircut. https://twitter.com/Joey7Barton/status/598830390296588288 He goes on to say some other stuff about loyalty, ability, and the fact that he'll tell his grandkids that he once played against him, but the true testament to Gerrard was clearly the haircut. And to prove that Barton was - for once - talking complete sense, the BBC put together this collection of Gerrard's career through his Merlin stickers, and the haircut results are fantastic. While Gerrard moved on to a scissors cut on top sometime around the mid 2000s, it's clear he's a fan of the two blade, and a good strong chop. None of these fancy mohawks, or even worse, a man-bun for Stevie. In and out the door in 15 minutes. gerrard stickers As a man who has stayed fiercely devoted to the short back and sides look my whole life, my respect for Gerrard has increased dramatically since seeing this. Also, it seems he was introduced to hair gel around 2006. He hasn't looked back. Hat Tip BBC
