Saudi Arabia has officially been confirmed as the host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
Spain, Portugal, and Morocco have also been confirmed as joint hosts for the 2030 tournament. Three matches of that tournament, however, will be held in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay to mark 100 years of the World Cup.
The hosts for both the 2030 World Cup and the 2034 World Cup were confirmed at Wednesday's Extraordinary FIFA Congress meeting following a vote.
Saudi Arabia promised to deliver a tournament like no other.
The domestic football calendar in Europe is likely to be disrupted due to the tournament, which will almost certainly take place in the winter, as the Qatar World Cup did in 2022.
"We will make you all proud. Saudi Arabia has become home to some of the greatest sporting events and we are growing football at a rapid pace," a spokesperson for the country's bid said.
"We want to host the first 48-team World Cup in a single nation.
