Reports that Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera to face match-fixing probe

Ander Herrera may be summoned to attended a match-fixing court case in Valencia next month, according to a report in Spanish newspaper Marca. Manchester United's €34m midfield signing from Athletic Bilbao is set to be named along with 34 other defendants when papers are filed in early December. The alleged match-fixing is linked to a La Liga match between Real Zaragoza, with whom Herrera was playing with at the time, and Levante. Zaragoza won the game 2-1 and the result secured their escape from relegation. If found guilty, the newspaper reports, Herrera could face a ban from football or even jail. Manchester United have, as yet, refused to comment on the allegations. Herrera has appeared five times for United this season and has scored two goals.
