Joe Cole was full of praise for David Moyes following West Ham United's 3-0 victory against Lyon at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday night. The 4-1 aggregate win puts the Hammers progressing to the semi-final of the Europa League, facing off against Eintracht Frankfurt on the 28th of April.

Cole was ecstatic at full-time following West Ham's monumental win. He praised how the players handled their emotions throughout the game alongside excellent game management. The BT Sports pundit described Moyes as "at his absolute peak as a manager" with the Hammers currently sitting sixth in the Premier League. Cole picked out club captain Mark Noble retiring at the end of the season, and how it would be "like a Hollywood film" if he got to lift the Europa League trophy as his last hurrah.

"It's really a pleasure, honour, and privilege to cover West Ham and see the smiles on faces. The punters will have to be so proud of them. They were tactically strong, aggressive at the right time, they kept their cool. Passionate, but cool-minded at crucial times," Cole told BT Sport. "The Moyes-iah can do no wrong. He gets it right all the time. He's at his absolute peak as a manager. West Ham beat them very well. They have fantastic footballers, Lyon, but there's a fragility in the squad. "Everything West Ham have, resilience, robustness, Lyon did not have. Sometimes in football, it's like a Hollywood film, scripted, in Mark Noble's last year... it's a wonderful, wonderful moment."

Carlton Cole heaped the praise on Craig Dawson following his opening goal in the 3-0 win, the former Hammers striker was in awe of his "sheer determination." The 38-year-old described the defender as a "special person" to have, as Dawson is a character that drives West Ham to victory. "He gets there by sheer determination, drive. Everything you need from 'Ballon d'Orson'! Everything you need from a footballer of his ilk," Carlton Cole said on BT Sport. "He is a special person to have on that pitch because he's the one who's going to lead that team to victory. You can see it He knows on that field, in the air, there's no one on that field matching him. So I'm really happy he got onto the end of that."
