Andy Keogh has been a big hit since his move down under, but there may be trouble ahead.
His side Perth Glory have been thrown out of the playoffs for the title, and one of the reasons is Keogh's salary.
The Irish Times are reporting that the club made cash payments to the player's family, on top of the €250,000 a year salary that they declared to the league.
This, and other salary cap issues have seen Perth expelled from the upcoming playoffs. They currently sit third in the 10 team A-League with two regular season games yet to be played.
Keogh has been a big hit on the field, scoring 11 goals so far this season, but his efforts could all come to nothing, but the club are appealing the decision to kick them out of the playoffs, and they've also been fined almost €200,000.
The club are arguing that the Football Federation Australia had no right to penalise them for financial irregularities, and will appear before the FFA appeals board tomorrow.
"The Disciplinary Committee will hear Perth Glory's application that the board of FFA had no power to impose sanctions on the club for breaches of the salary cap," the FFA said in a statement.
