The situation that has seen a huge influx of refugees enter Europe in recent weeks should remind us all that there are bigger things in this world than football.
Due to its position on the continent, Germany has been one of the countries that has seen many displaced persons enter its borders in recent weeks. Now, Bayern Munich have offered their help.
The Bavarian club is pledging €1million to support refugee projects, announcing plans to offer a training camp to provide food, football equipment and German classes.

Funds will be generated by a friendly match against Ausburg, taking place at Bayern's Allienz Arena on September 12. Each player will walk on to the field alongside a refugee child, aiming to set an example to all about integrating refugees into society.
The club's chairman, Kark-Heinz Rummenigge explained the thinking behind the plans.
"We at FC Bayern consider it our socio-political responsibility to help displaced and needy children, women and men, supporting and assisting them in Germany," he said.
Let's hope that more clubs in the football community can come together and follow this incredible gesture.
Well done Bayern Munich.
