Turkish giants Galatasaray have parted company with a second Italian manager in just under six months, after sacking Cesare Prandelli.

The Italian has been shown the door after being dumped out of Europe following Wednesday night's 2-0 defeat to Anderlecht. The defeat has even ruled out the possibility of finishing third in the group, which would have secured Europe League football, and the club's deputy president Abdurrahim Albayrak has said they've now parted ways with immediate effect. Former goalkeeper and Brazilian World Cup winner Claudio Taffarel will take temporary charge of the side, who are third in the Turkish Superleague, one point behind leaders Fenerbache and Besiktas. And after another Italian, Roberto Mancini left the club in June, they might be advised to steer clear of the Italians for a while.
