The England winger is in action for Gloucester this evening in the final of the European Challenge Cup, and looked for all the world like running in for his sides second try of the game, but for a Peter Stringer-esque ankle tap from Edinburgh's Cornell Du Preez.
May latched onto a breaking ball in midfield before accelerating past a number of tackles. He then gassed Du Preez on the outside, and looked for all the world like he was going to dot down and extend his side's lead, until the number 8 somehow managed to dive far enough to clip the heels of the Gloucester wing.
Gloucester scrambled to recycle the ball, but it was cynically killed by the Edinburgh defence, who had Anton Bresler sin-binned. Gloucester turned down the kick at goal for a scrum, but it eventually came to nothing.
Gloucester went on to win the game 19-13.
