Police in Brisbane are investigating a mugging at the Lang Park today, after a last gasp try by the home side secured a 24-20 win for Australia over South Africa in the Rugby Championship.
Nigels Owens is expected to be called as a key prosecution witness after he decided to award a try for the fainest of smudges of whitewash on the rugby ball in the game's dying seconds.
South Africa led by by 20-17 with over 80 minutes on the clock when Tevita Kuridrani managed to bustle his way over the try-line.
Despite incredible efforts at tackles from Francois Louw and Schalk Burger, both men failed to keep the ball from touching the line and the try was given.
The move came after Australia went for the corner when they won a penalty on 79 minutes and Captain Stephen Moore decided not to kick the points.
South Africa led at the break by 13-7 and enjoyed a 20-10 lead after 50 minutes until the late fightback by their hosts.
