Video: At last, some bright spark has managed to translate a Honey Badger interview

'There's a bee's wanger in it'

Patrick McCarry

Bloody oath.

Let us get the bad news out of the way first, Western Force lost 13-6 to the Stormers in this weekend’s Super Rugby action.

Now, to the pressing news. A legend working for SANZAR has decrypted Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins’ latest post-match natter.

Cummins was in typically ebullient form after his side’s latest close call. Here is how the interview went down.

CUMMINS: ‘Oh mate, you know what. Sounds like I’ve been whacked in the Niagara Falls, sorry about that.’

TRANSLATION: ‘Please accept my apologies if my voice doesn’t sound like it usually does. It feels as if I have taken a knock to the groin region.’

CUMMINS: ‘You know, the mindset was like bloody Burke and Wills. Get up the guts and just press forward and just wait ’til some bastard rescues ya. That was the main thing, just leave it all out there.’

TRANSLATION: ‘Our attitude was inspired by the famous Australian explorers, Robert Burke and William Wills who led an expedition through the middle of the country, but unfortunately got lost along the way in spite of their best efforts. We wanted to ensure all of our energy was expended on the field of play.’

CUMMINS: ‘Geez, there’s a bee’s wanger in it and we’re not far off.’

TRANSLATION: ‘The distance between the team and a Super Rugby victory is approximately the width of a bee’s appendage and there’s a feeling that we will break through soon.’

You can check out the rest of the translation’s here.
