Ulster captain Rory Best is in doubt for his side's Champions Cup play-off with the Ospreys on Sunday while Lions teammate Iain Henderson has been ruled out of the tie with a knee injury.
Ulster head coach Jono Gibbes confirmed that Henderson would miss the club's season finale at the Kingspan while Best is in doubt after injuring his hamstring at training on Tuesday, according to the BBC.
Both players were selected on last summer's British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand and will be significant losses for the club who have struggled this season in their absence.
The play-off with the Ospreys will also be Gibbes' final game in charge of the province and the New Zealander said that he's just happy his side are still in contention for a Champions Cup spot heading into the final match of their season.
“It’s just good to be alive in the last game, to be honest,” Gibbes said. “We have that, we had no margin of error and we managed to fight and scratch our way through and get ourselves in a position to put pressure on Edinburgh.”
