Stuart Hogg has a decent try-scoring strike-rate and Scotland had home games against Ireland, Wales and Italy in the Six Nations. His original top try-scorer price was bonkers.

If the opening Six Nations weekend whetted your appetite for putting on a punt, the top try-scorers market is an interesting one. Pop into it today and you will find Hogg at short odds of 3/1 to top the charts. Anyone that threw money on the Scotland fullback before the tournament must be feeling pretty smug - Hogg was available at 40/1. The 24-year-old ran in two superb tries in Saturday's 27-22 victory over Ireland at Murrayfield. He now leads the way, ahead of the likes of George North and Ireland winger Keith Earls. The five-pointers were Hogg's 14th and 15th in international rugby. "We were kind of caught out by that. We put [the pre-tournament on Hogg] down to some patriotic punters up in Scotland. "He is going to be a shocking loser for us if he does finish as the tournament's top try-scorer. 40/1 he was backed at, right into favourite now after his double on Saturday."
Up next for Hogg and the Scots is a not so handy away date with France in Paris. It won't be easy but Hogg does have a good record against Les Bleus - three tries in four previous games. That original 40/1 bet must be looking pretty sweet for those that backed the flying Scotsman.
