Ireland's Six Nations interim head coach, Simon Easterby, has been handed a significant driving ban and fine.
The Welsh-born, former Ireland player, was driving over the 70mph speed limit on a dual carriageway in Cornwall, England.
According to the BBC, Easterby, who lives in Wales, appeared before Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Monday.
It was also reported that while the judge took into account his work commitments, 'exceptional hardship' could not been proven. He was handed a six-month driving ban, and ordered to pay a fine of £1,345.
Easterby, who won 65 caps for his county, recently led Ireland to a third-place finish in the Six Nations, taking over as head coach from Andy Farrell who has taken a sabbatical to focus on his role as head coach of the the Lions.
Farrell has subsequently added Easterby to his Lions coaching ticket, with Paul O'Connell taking charge of Ireland for their summer tour.
