There were no surprises at the Shelbourne Hotel today, as Irish rugby coach Joe Schmidt was named Philips Manager of the Year for 2014.
Schmidt led Ireland to a sensational 12 months this year, winning the Six Nations title, and ending the year on a seven match unbeaten run, including wins against France, South Africa and Australia.
The run of wins has seen Ireland climb up to third in the world rankings.
Schmidt was the pick of the 12 winners of Phillips' monthly award holding off European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley and Dublin football manager Jim Gavin, who claimed the 2013 crown.
