The eyes of the rugby world are on six particular nations this spring, as every spring.
It just so happens that two of those six nations are battling it out, with South Africa, to host the 2023 World Cup.
Ireland and France square off at the Aviva on February 25th in Joe Schmidt's men's next match and while the coach and his players will be thinking only of the result, the IRFU blazers will be thinking about the 2023 battle.
They will want to be sure World Rugby get the best possible impression of Ireland's abilities as a host before they make their decision on who will be awarded the World Cup in six years.
