Paul O'Connell has confirmed he could retire after this year's World Cup.
The Ireland captain will have turned 35 by the time the tournament ends and has indicated in an interview with TV3 News that he could make the decision whether to carry on playing beyond that by the end of the current season.
The second row is contracted to the IRFU and Munster until the summer of 2016, but a lengthy injury history built up over his 14-year career could encourage him to call time before then.
