The Lions produced one of the best comebacks in Super Rugby history on Saturday, when they came back from 22-3 down to triumph over the Hurricanes, on a final scoreline of 44-29 to book their place in the Super Rugby  final against the Crusaders next week.

The Hurricanes began the game with a fitting gusto and explosiveness to live up to their name, as they scampered out of the blocks to leave the Johannesburg side reeling in their home stadium. The South African side stormed back in the second half, scoring five tries to the Hurricanes one to eventually emerge victorious by 15 points. The Lions must have taken a bollocking from their coach at half-time, because the hungry and physical team that came out of the dressing room after half-time bore no resemblance to the first half sluggishness. This physicality and ruthless will to win was never better epitomised than in the 59th minute of the game by their winger Courtnall Skosan, who chased a hoisted, and seeminlgy hopeless kick down like a scalded cat. New Zealand winger Nehe Milner Skudder bravely fielded the ball, only to be driven back at least fifteen metres by the bulldozing South African. The man was simply not to be refused. https://twitter.com/NiallMcintyre/status/891313270019080193 All the way into the middle of next week. It wasn't the hit, it was the bloody drive, the hunger, the insatiable appetite. An example to all.
