Leicester Tigers are in the market for a new out-half and Ireland and Munster No 10 Jack Crowley is in their sights.
As reported by the Irish Independent, the Premiership club have already offered Crowley a lucrative contract in the region of £600,000.
With Springbok legend Handre Pollard set to move back to his native country at the end of the season and re-join the Bulls, Leicester need a replacement and will have significant funds freed up with Pollard's departure.
Crowley - who is not on a central contract - is currently in talks with Munster and the IRFU, with his provincial contract expiring at the end of the season.
However, such is the size of the number offered by Leicester, it is very unlikely that the IRFU and Munster would match or even get near that figure.
With the IRFU's policy of not picking overseas players, Crowley would have to give up his Ireland career for the time being and would be in danger of missing out on the next World Cup.
But given that he has lost his place in the starting XV to Sam Prendergast, the 25-year-old could be tempted.
