We’re expecting very few changes.
This is it. Ireland are four from four in this year’s Six Nations, leaving a date with old adversaries England at Twickenham on St Patrick’s Day to determine whether or not Joe Schmidt’s men will deliver just the third Grand Slam in Irish history.
Following the 28-8 win over Scotland in Dublin, the IRFU confirmed that, despite the usual “bumps and bruises,” all 36 players in Joe Schmidt’s squad are available for selection heading into the showdown with Eddie Jones’ England.
That includes Cian Healy. The loosehead prop sustained a shoulder injury during the Scotland game – eventually being replaced by Jack McGrath – but will train fully this week. Rob Kearney sat out training on Tuesday but is also set to play against England, following on from his man of the match display against the Scots.
While there were slight concerns over a few niggling injuries for Johnny Sexton in the build-up to last weekend, the outhalf has seemingly come through another bruising Test unscathed.
The only change in personnel we’re expecting Schmidt to make in his line-up is Iain Henderson partnering James Ryan instead of Devin Toner. Henderson is fully fit again and will certainly bring the fight to England, who have lost the breakdown battle in the past two games.
Ahead of Schmidt announcing his team for the England game on Thursday afternoon, here is our predicted 15.
