The form of Ireland and England heading into the game.

Ireland have won seven of their last eight games, a run that includes wins over New Zealand and Wales. They did, however, lose to France in Paris in week two of the 2022 Six Nations, which ended their hopes of winning the Grand Slam.

Farrell’s team can still win the championship, but it won’t be straightforward.

If they beat England on Saturday and Scotland in the final game of the campaign, and France slip up against England in the final round of games on Saturday, March, 19, then Ireland could take home the trophy.

England are also out of contention to win the Grand Slam, after losing to Scotland in week one of the competition.

But Eddies Jones’ team still have an outside chance of winning the championship if they beat Ireland on Saturday and France in Paris the following week.

England have won five of their last six games, their only recent defeat coming against Scotland at Murrayfield in February.
