The Ulster man was forced to withdraw from the game due to a virus.
The injury headache that Joe Schmidt had to deal with this month has just gotten worse. On top of the loss of big names like Cian Healy, Sean O'Brien, Rory Best and Gordon D'Arcy, Ulster's Chris Henry will now also miss the game, after he pulled out of the game this afternoon.
The back row would have been expected to have a big game today against the powerful Springbok pack but his place will now be taken by Rhys Ruddock, with Tommy O'Donnell coming onto the bench.
An Ireland spokesperson stated, 'Chris Henry came down with a virus last night. It was decided he was not fit play this morning. It was not right to put him into a full international.'
