O'Connell won the public vote (we wonder did our campaign help?) after a marvellous series of games.
Here are his tournament stats;
55 ball carries, 53 metres gained, two clean breaks, three turnovers won, 43 tackles made (11 missed), 14 lineouts won (2 missed), a single defender beaten and one offload.
He also got a crucial try against Scotland and only gave away one penalty all championship.
On the eye test he looked like a superstar and the numbers back it up.
Congrats Paulie....
UPDATE: The Six Nations have now released the details of the vote and O'Connell nabbed 26 per cent of the poll of 18,842 fans.
Second was another second row, Wales' Alun-Wyn Jones while another Irish player, Robbie Henshaw, took third, just ahead of Dan Biggar.
They also have some quotes from the Munster man.
