Late overtake makes him a first time Sprint Cup champion
Kevin Harvick has claimed his first ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title after holding on to claim the chequered flag in the final event of the season, the Ford EcoBoost 400 at the Miami Speedway tonight.
Harvick had to battle through the field after starting the race in 5th spot but was second by lap 4.
He had a huge battle with his championship rivals throughout the marathon race but a late overtake of Denny Hamlin meant he took the title ahead of Ryan Newman
He celebrated in pretty spectacular style.
