Video: Man runs across F1 track during practice session, breaks into Ferrari garage and asks for a car

At what point does this become a good idea?

This lad is certain to appear on ‘China’s dumbest criminals’.

At the practice session for the Chinese Grand Prix earlier today, one fan thought it’d be a good idea to run onto the track, while Formula 1 cars were whizzing past at around 150mph, climb over a fence, invade the Ferrari pit area and ask for a car.

The guy waited for one vehicle to pass, before recklessly charging across the track as another car drove towards him.

When he scaled the fence, the overly-eager fan apparently said: ‘I want a car. I have got a ticket’. He got arrested instead.

If he’s as good at escaping Chinese prison cells as he is invading F1 tracks, then he shouldn’t be too worried. Otherwise….

Former Irish priest Cornelius Horan invaded the British Grand Prix in 2003, and the marathon event at the following summer’s Olympic Games in Athens. But, unlike the Chinese lad, who merely wanted to drive one of the cars, he was warning us of the impending Armageddon.
