The World Superbike season got off to a great start for Irish rider Jonathan Rea. The Ballyclare man won the first race and finished second in the second race at Phillip Island meaning he left Australia tied at the top of the standings with Leon Haslam.
However, while Rea is off to a flyer, spare a thought for fellow Superbike rider Randy de Puniet. The Frenchman fell in testing, breaking some ribs as well as falling on his arse, producing a truly horrendous bruise.
Incredibly, not only did Puniter ride in both races, he finished seventh and 11th too.
