Phil Davis mustn't read the fine print in his fight contracts.
The former UFC light heavyweight made his Bellator debut on Saturday night in a tournament to decide the number one contender for Liam McGeary's 205 lb belt.
After submitting Emmanuel Newton by kimura in the semi-final, Mr Wonderful knocked out tournament alternate Francis Carmont to be crowned winner.
As Davis' hand was raised by the referee, Bellator president Scott Coker wrapped a belt around his waist to celebrate the tournament champion.
Davis clearly didn't have a clue that the victory would earn him some gold and couldn't hide the delighted surprise from spreading across his face.
Sure God love him.
