UFC Champion wants to fight Anthony Joshua on McGregor vs. Mayweather undercard

It goes without saying that Conor McGregor's first foray into the professional boxing arena will break records in terms of pay-per-view revenue, gate receipts and social media interest. As if the August 26 fight card, which will culminate in a meeting between McGregor and 49-0 boxing great, Floyd Mayweather, wasn't interesting enough, the UFC heavyweight champion of the world wants to get involved. Miocic had previously expressed an interest in challenging the reigning IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight champion. "If the fight happens, me against Joshua would be a great fight," Miocic recently said during an appearance on The MMA Hour. "I think I’d surprise a lot of people, I think it’d be an amazing fight ... let’s do it! He’s a great guy. He’s tough, he’s a champion for a reason. I think I’d give him a run for his money." Don't get your hopes up, folks, because it's looking ever more likely that Joshua is set for a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko next. But Miocic wants Joshua and Joshua is open to fighting on the undercard of McGregor vs. Mayweather. And when you look at the main event for the August cross-sport meeting, stranger things have most definitely happened.
