Paul Dunne will start the final round of his maiden event on the PGA Tour this afternoon knowing a low round will almost certainly earn him the biggest cheque of his fledgling career.
The Greystones golfer lies just four shots off the lead as he waits to tee off at 3:50pm Irish time at the Farmers Insurance Open in California.
Dunne is tied for 17th on five under after breaking par on each of the past three days, including yesterday's fine 71, no mean feat on the renowned Torrey Pines courses, ahead of US Ryder Cup stars Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Mahan and JJ Henry, while fellow Irishman Shane Lowry sits on -2 in 41st.
The tournament, which has a first prize of over €1million is led by American Scott Brown and Korea's KJ Choi at nine under.
