Kerry make one interesting change for Super 8 clash with Galway

Patrick McCarry

Freshening up the attack.

Kerry’s Super 8 clash with Galway, at Croke Park, will clash with the World Cup final on Sunday but tens of thousands will flock to the game and view it on TV [RTE]. It should be a cracker.

The Munster and Connacht SFC champions will go toe-to-toe and hope to gain some early momentum in their group of four.

Kerry boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice has made two changes to his squad for the Galway game, with one tweak to his starting line-up.

Fitzmaurice’s change to the starting 15 is to bring in Kilcummin’s Kevin McCarthy for Micheal Burns. McCarthy will take his place alongside Seán O’Shea and Stephen O’Brien.

The Kingdom are otherwise unchanged, with David Moran and Jack Barry in midfield and the ominous scoring potential of David Clifford, Paul Geaney and James O’Donoghue in the full forward line.

The other alteration is on the bench. Veteran forward Donnchadh Walsh gets the No.26 jersey as Dingle’s Barry O’Sullivan drops out.

Throw-in for the game is 4pm, with Kildare versus Monaghan serving as a tantalising appetiser at 2pm.
