19-year-old Patrick McClean won’t ever forget his stunning first goal for Derry City.

The younger brother of West Brom and Republic of Ireland international winger James, bagged his first goal for the Candystripes against Longford Town at the weekend. The 19-year-old came on for the injured Aaron Barry just before the break.

Trailing 1-0 thanks to David O’Sullivan’s first-half goal, McClean struck belted home a 35-yard left-foot screamer which went sailing into the top right-hand corner of Paul Skinner’s net.

McClean’s golazo on the 73-minute mark salvaged a point for Derry as the game finished 1-1.
