The exchange occurred in the aftermath of Katie Taylor’s winning fight.

Conor McGregor and Jake Paul were involved in a series of heated slurs on Twitter in the aftermath of Katie Taylor’s winning fight against Amanda Serrano.

McGregor was watching from home as Taylor secured the victory on a split decision in one of the fights of the year while Paul was present at Madison Square Gardens after he worked as Serrano’s promoter.

The altercation soon turned sour.

Following the victory, the UFC star reacted to Taylor’s inspirational performance and congratulated her saying: “Katie Taylor The Greatest! Absolutely incredible boxing! Take a bow ladies! What a contest!”

However as Paul stepped up to conduct his post-fight interview, McGregor then turned sour and began to call out the American – whom he has had a long-term stand-off with.

“Who the f*** is this jackass in the pink Jimmy Savile glasses?” the Irishman then tweeted.

Unsurprisingly Paul wasn’t going to keep quiet and fired back at McGregor with a lengthy rant, making a number of points in response.

He said: “I’m the one who has done more for fighters than you ever have.

“The one who has won five fights in the past two years while you have lost five.

“The one who isn’t owned by Dana White.

“The one who made the fight you just watched happen.

“The one who got your hero Katie Taylor paid, that’s who.”

McGregor, keen to continue winding up Paul, then replied with an image of the disgraced Saville.

‘Of course, he always has something to say.’

Paul was then asked about the exchange during the post-fight conference, to which he once again slammed McGregor, criticising his career.

He said: “It is what it is.

“Of course, Conor’s watching to support Katie and we have a little bit of banter back and forth, but of course, he always has something to say.

“But, he doesn’t really have a place to talk, right?

“He hasn’t won a fight in five years, (UFC president Dana White) owns him and I’m the one who got Katie Taylor a big payday and that’s his hero.

“So, Conor McGregor’s not tall enough to ride a rollercoaster and I feel bad for him and he’s ducking me, so we’ll get that settled one day.”
