All together - Coming home for match day

There's nothing quite like the buzz of match day. Making your way to the stadium adorned in your county colours, surrounded by friends and family, and listening to the familiar hum of excitement from fellow spectators. It is truly an indescribable feeling.

Having the craic on match day is about much more than just football. It’s about belonging. The feeling of camaraderie from the moment the first whistle is blown is immense. It's also about the colours, the conversations, and, of course, the people you wish were standing beside you in the stands.

I’m sure everyone has someone who is abroad whom we wish could be beside us for kick-off. Someone to celebrate each score with, commiserate each miss, have a much-needed post-match debrief with, and, most importantly, make memories with.

Well, thanks to the team at Allianz, there's a chance you can bring that special person who is abroad home to attend a game.

Allianz are inviting you to nominate a friend or family member living abroad and give them the chance to come home for match day. How unreal is that! Regardless of whether it’s a quarter-final, semi-final or championship final game, they will be flown home so you can experience that epic match-day thrill together because Allianz understands that being there together means everything.

Take the story of Sam Duncan. After more than three years away, one Westmeath man made the journey
home from Australia just in time to watch his county do something they hadn’t done in 22 years — win a Leinster Final.

Sam Duncan, from Milltownpass, had previously played for Westmeath himself, lining out in a Leinster Final at just 18. But like so many others, life took him abroad — and match days became something he watched from the other side of the world. This time, he was back in the stands. And it meant everything.

Sam’s story is exactly what Allianz’s Coming Home for Match Day campaign is all about — bringing GAA supporters living abroad back home to experience the biggest days of the Senior Football Championship.

Over the course of the Senior Football Championship, a total of four lucky supporters will be selected and brought home to experience match day with their county team.

Each prize includes:

  • Economy return flights to Ireland
  • Two GAA match tickets
  • One night’s accommodation
  • Airport transfers

To enter, all you have to do is share your GAA story! So what do we mean by that? Your story should include what the GAA means to you or the person you’re nominating. You can touch on your or their connection to the county and, of course, what it would mean for them to come home for match day this championship season. It's that simple!
