Brought to you by Dublin City Council

Taking place in TU Dublin, Grangegorman, Dublin City Council SportsFest 2026 is the ideal time to fall in love with a brand new sport.

We're all familiar with the many benefits of sports and being active. The health and fitness advantages are a given, of course, but there is also a litany of personal development benefits. When you take up a sport, your social circle widens, and that ushers in a whole world of perks, from an improved mood to more pals.

Ready to discover your new favourite sport but not sure where to start? Let Dublin City Council SportsFest 2026 be your portal of discovery.

Kicking off at 12pm on Saturday, 26th September in TU Dublin, Grangegorman, this family-friendly event offers attendees the chance to meet local clubs, watch demonstrations and try out a new sport.

Dublin City Council SportsFest will cover a huge variety of sports. Give a much-loved classic like GAA, football, hockey or basketball a go, or try out one of the more unusual activities on offer. We're talking the likes of parkour, ultimate frisbee and rock-climbing. There will even be a Tug of War for some old-school nostalgia.

On top of giving attendees the chance to give a new sport a go, Dublin City Council SportsFest is also the ideal opportunity to meet coaches, and chat to team organisers to learn what club life is like.

Little ones in attendance will be treated to free face-painting, while walkabout entertainers are bound to keep them engaged. Dublin City Council SportsFest will close out with #BeActive Dance Aerobics, an all-ages dance party.

Between trying new sports and meeting your future teammates, grab a healthy bite to eat from one of the many hospitality vendors on site.

Ready to get active more often? Come on down to Dublin City Council SportsFest in TU Dublin, Grangegorman this Saturday, September 26th, from 12-5pm. Your new favourite sport is waiting for you to discover it.
