Time for the recognition.
The PwC All-Star nominees for the 2017 hurling year have been announced and it is, of course, dominated by Galway players.
It was a stellar year for Micheal Donoghue’s men, their only loss was to Wexford in the league and even then ended up winning the league along with the Leinster Championship and ultimately the All-Ireland title.
What a year and their 14 All-Star nominees reflect that.
However, the Player of the Year award nominees actually favours Waterford as both their captain Kevin Moran and his teammate Jamie Barron are nominated alongside Galway’s Joe Canning for the gong.
Cork’s Mark Coleman is nominated for Young Player of the Year alongside Waterford’s Conor Gleeson and Galway’s Conor Whelan.
