One mile, four beers, five minutes…
You may have thought that the beer mile isn’t a real sport. But if Lance Armstrong trying, and failing to do it wasn’t proof enough then check out the first ever World Championship race, held in Texas last night.
Not only do the competitors run at a bewildering speed, they fairly lash the beers into them too. The commentators helpfully give you ‘beer splits’ letting you know how long each runner spent on the drinking part of each lap and the race itself is pretty damn exciting.
