Ah, the gym bag.
Sometimes it’s best to just never open it but sure that only adds to the problem.
Entering the changing room after a session is a tense affair all round and it can be just as nerve-racking beforehand. You never know what you might discover when you muster up the courage to finally open your gym bag but here are 10 things no-one wants to find.
Then there is the mortal fear that a team-mate or friend may go looking for something in your bag without asking permission. Heaven help us.
1. Yesterday’s wet towel
It’s time to make a decision: soggy towel or your sweaty t-shirt. Come on, we’ve all done it. It’s okay if it’s not inside-out, right? As long as you get dry, that’s what counts.
2. Your girlfriend’s kit
Hey, it might make you look bigger.
3. No clean underwear
Quite probably a much more universal problem not isolated to your gym bag.
4. Protein spillage
Bad enough if it’s powder all over your bag that makes you look like a dodgy drug-dealer. Worse if it’s just a spilled protein shake ruining everything in sight and even ruling out that sweaty t-shirt as a suitable drying option.
5. Muddy/hardened football socks
If they’re not damp, they’re perfectly acceptable.
6. The banana you forgot to eat
Why do bad things happen to good people?
7. Empty NIVEA MEN deodorant can
So you can’t even mask the bad smell of your bag. Whether you prefer NIVEA MEN spray, roll-on or stick, make sure you stay stocked up. No one likes borrowing another man’s roll-on… shudder.
8. A borrowed DVD
Yeah, yeah, sure it’s your sister’s.
9. Someone else’s gum shield
Worse when you find this out after you’ve used it.
10. The wrong shower gel
If you’re going to be the hero that brings shower gel likely to be shared with all and sundry, at least bring the right shower gel.
Whether it’s NIVEA MEN Sensitive Shower Gel or NIVEA MEN Sport Shower Gel or NIVEA MEN Deo-Shower you can’t go too far wrong. If it’s good enough for the Republic of Ireland and Liverpool it is good enough for you and your sweaty mates.
